Call for Papers: 7th ENERGY FORUM on Solar Building Skins
06-07 December 2012, Bressanone, Italy

Dear Olaf Ter Haar,

It is a pleasure to invite you to this year's ENERGY FORUM on Solar Building Skins. The aim of the Conference is to contribute to a multidisciplinary, integrated planning approach among architects, engineers, scientists, energy managers and manufacturers, to reduce energy consumption while improving the comfort and health of the building's occupants. Emphasis will be placed on the latest developments and innovations in integrated components for the building industry, in particular with regard to multifunctional building envelopes. We would be happy to review your proposal and to include your presentation in our conference program or poster presentation. Following are the topics which will be covered by this year’s conference:

Multifunctional Building Skins
- Intelligent and Adaptive Building Skins
- Evolving Photovoltaic and Solar Thermal Technologies and Projects
- Enhanced Daylighting and Shading

Holistic Concepts of Plus Energy Buildings
- Building Concepts and Market Strategies for Plus Energy Houses
- Refurbishment Strategies for the Building Stock
- Solar Retrofitting

Performance Criteria for Building Envelopes
- Performance Metrics
- Life Cycle Costs Analysis

Who can apply:
Researchers, scientists and professionals (including architects, engineers, energy managers, urban planners and industry experts) are invited to submit papers for presentation.

How to apply:
Please send your proposal in either English or Italian language and include the following information:
- Paper title plus titles of three to four sub-chapters
- Author’s and co-author’s name, job title and organization; please underline the name of the speaker
- Phone number, email address and postal address
- Synopsis of 300-400 words (abstract) with four key words
- Brief Curriculum Vitae on page two of your proposal

Use your 400 words efficiently, e.g. do not write an introduction or a presentation of your organization and do not submit more than two pages (including your CV on page 2). As regards the sub-chapters of your proposal, please try to be specific and do not use generic terms such as “Introduction“, “Results” or “Conclusion“. For sample sub-chapters, please see the conference program of last year’s ENERGY FORUM at www.energy-forum.com/program-2011.html.

Proposals should be sent in PDF format to proposals@energy-forum.com by April 15th 2012. The international scientific conference committee will review you abstract. Submitters will be notified by May 15th regarding the status of their submission with detailed instructions for preparing their final papers (i.e. a template in Word format) and suggestions for accommodation in Bressanone. Registration and payment of the reduced registration fee of 380 EUR is due by June 1st. The fee includes all conference documentation, lunches and coffee breaks. Full papers must be received by July 31st and will be included in the conference documentation available in a printed version at the congress.

Those papers that will not be submitted for presentation in plenary session will be considered for poster presentation. Poster presenters are also entitled to the reduced registration fee of 380 EUR.

Registration Fee
The cost to participate at the ENERGY FORUM is €480 (regular conference fee for non-speakers) which includes all conference documentation, lunches and coffee breaks. Participants who register ON LINE by June 30th will receive a 20% discount.
