Solar Energy Engineering - an online course for a developing market and next gen engineers

Solar energy technology use is expanding rapidly. The Solar Photovoltaic (PV) sector is the largest and fastest growing renewable energy employer worldwide. Are you curious about renewable energy? Did you ever thought of joining the solar energy sector, and contributing to the transition to renewable energy? This program is what you need to start your journey!

This MicroMasters program, offered on edX, was carefully designed to provide future and practicing solar energy engineers with the knowledge and skills needed to pursue a career in the solar energy sector. This program will teach you what is expected from solar experts, and will prepare you for employment in various capacities, including:

  • Systems design and engineering
  • Solar systems installation
  • Device fabrication and characterization
  • QA and reliability testing
  • Project management and consultancy as well as (technical) sales

What you will learn:
  • The physics of and how to model all aspects of a working solar cell: performance, efficiency limits and design rules.
  • Design concepts and fabrication processes of various photovoltaic (PV) technologies and applications.
  • How to evaluate components of a PV system: PV modules, inverters, DC-DC converters, batteries, charge controllers and cables.
  • Application techniques for designing a PV system ranging from a residential rooftop system to a utility scale solar farm.
  • Design concepts of microgrids that include PV systems.
  • How to assess the economics and ecology of PV systems and communicate these accordingly.

Matchmaking Event E-mobilityMatch 2012 in Rotterdam

Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), Ecomobiel , Syntens and the Chamber of Commerce join forces in the organization of an international matchmaking event during the 2012 Ecomobiel trade show for Sustainable Mobility in Ahoy Rotterdam.
The Ecomobiel trade show is a major event on E-mobility and sustainable transport in Europe. Exhibitors are a.o.car manufacturers, suppliers, research- and services organizations in the E-mobility industry and other areas related to sustainable mobility.

In addition, Ecomobiel is the only exhibition throughout the world with an indoor test and drive circuit for visitors, to experience all state-of-the-art sustainable mobility solutions.

E-mobilityMatch 2012 is a unique opportunity during the Ecomobiel Trade Show to meet, learn and match with potential business partners from several European Countries, in combination with a visit to the exhibition.

Matchmaking Green Car Technologies Darmstadt March 28th


On March 28 Enterprise Europe Network will co-organize a B2B-matchmaking in Darmstadt, Germany on the topic of "Green car technologies". The background is that a Korean delegation of 10-15 companies from this sector will visit the Automotive Cluster Rhein Main Neckar in Darmstadt. We would like to open this meeting to European companies in general.
