Op maandag 29 juni 2015 organiseert Health Valley in samenwerking met het Achterhoeks Centrum voor Technologie de bijeenkomst Health Valley Afslag Achterhoek. 3D-printing is nog betrekkelijk nieuw voor de zorg en biedt veel kansen. Dit thema staat dan ook centraal tijdens deze middag. Het wordt belicht vanuit het perspectief van onderzoek, zorg en bedrijfsleven. We nodigen U van harte uit! FrieslandCampina verduurzaamt stoomvoorziening met pyrolyseolie
Minister Kamp opende op 11 mei de nieuwe productielocatie van FrieslandCampina in Borculo. Hier verduurzaamt de zuivelgigant de stoomvoorziening door gebruik van pyrolyseolie. Die olie komt van Empyro in Hengelo: een van de eerste pyrolyseoliefabrieken in Europa. De TKI-BBE speelde een cruciale rol.

IEA: meer investeringen in energie-innovatie nodig
Om de opwarming van de aarde te beperken tot 2°C moet er meer geïnvesteerd worden in nieuwe duurzame energietechnologieën. Dat stelt het International Energy Agency (IEA) in het rapport Energy Technology Perspectives 2015.

SNELSTE WATERSTOFBATTERIJ OOIT BRENGT WATERSTOFAUTO DICHTERBIJ
Auto's die rijden op mierenzuur? Het scenario is niet ondenkbaar na de vondst die fysisch chemicus Georgy Filonenko deed in zijn promotieonderzoek. Hij ontdekte een katalysator waarmee waterstof met koolstofdioxide (CO2) samen bliksemsnel mierenzuur kunnen vormen, sneller dan ooit gemeten. En de omgekeerde reactie gaat net zo makkelijk. Een stabiele en snelle batterij voor waterstof lijkt in de maak voor toepassing in bijvoorbeeld toekomstige waterstofauto's. Filonenko promoveerde cum laude.
