Mannen rijden voor mannen, the Distinguished Gentlemans Ride - Twente

On Sunday the 24th of September, I will don my finest attire with my fellow men and women across the globe to join the fight with The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride to raise awareness for prostate cancer and men’s mental health. But before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I need you to donate what you can for this meaningful cause and help me reach my goal.
For your uncles, your brothers, your fathers and friends. Donate what you can, for their lives need not end.

Geen collectie, wel aandacht en zichtbaarheid
Geen collecte aan de deur door mij voor een goed doel maar op een mannelijke manier aandacht geven aan en geld halen voor onderzoek en behandeling van prostaat kanker en depressiviteit bij mannen.

Met mijn leeftijd richting de 50 hoor je het steeds vaker in je familie, vrienden, je collega's, je woonomgeving en je werk. Mannen waar prostaatkanker wordt geconstateerd.
Met zo veel aandacht voor andere goede doelen wil ik mij in deze wereldwijd georganiseerde motorrit richten op prostaat kanker en depressiviteit bij mannen. Meer aandacht, meer preventief onderzoek, eerdere signalering en diagnose, meer levens redden en meer levensvreugde na behandeling.

Daarvoor wil ik rijden, in mijn  nette pak op mijn Ducati. Laten zien dat mannen mannen steunen, als een knikje, een gebaar, een steun en een stem om stil te staan bij deze ziekte.

En dat doe ik op een iconisch Italiaans merk, Ducati, met een model dat is gemaakt van 1991-1997, de SuperSport met een 904 cc oliegekoelde twee-cylinder in 90 graden, onder insiders de L-twin genoemd.
De best klinkende motor van dit merk in natuurlijk het snelle Ducati rood.
Nog steeds krijg ik een duim omhoog als ik bij een verkeerslicht moet wachten, of de motor parkeer voor een korte stop. Nu doe ik een duim omhoog. Naar alle mannen met prostaatkanker en met depressiviteit, je staat niet alleen, je wordt gehoord, er wordt aan je gedacht en we rijden voor jullie!
